The Lyons Gallery is pleased to bring to Australia the work of a true living legend: David Bailey. The renowned British photographer was a leading figure in the Swinging Sixties London scene and injected a working-class or “punk” look into both clothing and artistic products.
Keith Haring was a street artist and activist who made a name for himself in the 1980s New York pop art scene, thanks mostly to his distinctive and colourful style. His aim was to make art accessible to everyone and create awareness on contemporary social and political events.
Lyons Gallery is pleased to present our recently signed artist, Mendel, whose incredibly bright, energetic and symbolic works are the perfect addition to our gallery. Hiss work is primarily Pop and Street Art with influences from Line Art.
At the end of last year we visited David Bailey at his iconic Central London studio. He spoke to us and recounted the stories and memories behind the 6 photographs he personally chose for us, which are now available at the Lyons Gallery.
Warhol became a friend and mentor to Haring in New York in the 1980’s, not long after Haring’s hugely successful solo show in 1982. Haring was influenced and inspired by Andy Warhol's unique fusion of art and life.
