International Women's Day Exhibition: T Galleria By DFS X Lyons Gallery
"I like to choose subjects that fascinate me and that transmit force. Almost always the protagonist of my works is the woman". - Margot Laffon
We are proud to announce our International Women's Day collaboration with DFS Galleria Sydney, celebrating women in art and the female art form.
Lyons Galley are honoured to be representing incredible and talented female artists from around the globe such as Margot Laffon, Amanda Johnstone, Sara Pope and many more.
We believe women have been underrepresented in the industry, and hope to revoke this idea by supporting female artists and the concepts behind their pieces.
One artist who is a leader in the reform is Margot Laffon, a contemporary artist who enjoys the challenge of exploring new and inventive techniques, to create works full of strength and feeling. Almost all of Margot's artworks feature a woman as the protagonist as she believes they are fascinating and transmit force.
Lyons Gallery has also chosen to represent an array of male artists whose pieces embody the female form, and promote revolutionary and iconic women such as Audrey Hepburn and Kate Moss.
Douglas Kirkland’s works are at the cutting edge of fashion, photojournalism and portraiture. His works range from exquisite nudes to powerful portraits of notable and notorious women. One exhibition that stands out in the Lyons Gallery is Marilyn Monroe, 1961.
Through our continued support of female artists, the Lyons Gallery hopes to showcase iconic and innovative works that transform the industry.
